Bhavas – the houses (means divisions). In Hindu astrology, the natal chart is the bhava chakra. In the Natal Chart the bhava chakra is the complete 360° circle of life, divided into houses, and represents our way of enacting the influences in the wheel. Each house has associated karaka planets that can alter the interpretation of a particular house.
Karaka of a house in the natal chart means permanent owner of a particular house. In the horoscope there are 12 houses and each house has a permanent owner of its own, this permanent owner is called Karaka.
While prediction karaka has to be taken care which if not taken can alter the forecast.
For example first house of the horoscope is called lagna or ascendant and its permanent owner is planet Sun which will let us know the outer personality, physique, health/well-being, hair, appearance of the individual. While making a forecast sun has to be considered irrespective of any sign coming in the lagna or any planet occupying the first house. Same can be taken for rest of the planets as mentioned in the table below.
