📜 Computed & cited
Traditional pañcāṅga convention (choghadiya chakra: day and night each divided in eight, slot lords in weekday order) — described in Aṅk Vidyā Jyotiṣ, pp. 105–106; slot order checked against Drik Panchang for all seven weekdays. No classical verse is claimed. Every value here is calculated from Swiss Ephemeris (Lahiri sidereal) and backed by the classical texts — not a fixed table. That is the difference between an almanac you can trust and one you cannot.
Reading the panchang. A tithi is one of 30 lunar days — the time the moon takes to gain 12° on the sun. A nakshatra is one of 27 lunar mansions (the sky's 360° divided by 27). The yoga is the angular relationship between sun and moon; the karana is half a tithi; the vara is the weekday. Together, these five (the "five limbs" — pancha-anga) are the foundation of every muhurta calculation in Vedic astrology.
